Volunteer of the Quarter - Nance Elise Wilkinson-Horner
Please join the USO Guam in congratulating Nance Elise Wilkinson-Horner as Volunteer of the Quarter for the Spring 2016!
In her capacity as an opening lead volunteer, Nance is an integral part of daily operations at the USO Guam. After only a few weeks of volunteering, her energetic attitude, integrity, and trust earned her keys to open the center several times per week. In addition, she assists in training new volunteers about policies and procedures of the USO.
Nance successfully organized USO participation at events on Naval Base Guam including Halloween Trunk-or-Treat with MWR and the Submarine Squadron Fifteen Holiday party. In addition to organizing events, Nance was instrumental in coordinating USO support for the USS John C. Stennis port visit to Guam in February 2016. Carrier Strike Group Three, which includes the USS John C. Stennis, brought over 4,000 sailors to the island. Nance worked to inform all sailors with the Carrier Strike Group about the services and programming offered by the USO Guam which helped to increase center foot traffic by over 300% during their visit.
In addition to her volunteer hours, Nance has also assisted in collecting in-kind contributions. Coordinating with her daughter’s Girl Scout Troop 503, Nance help to collect over 150 boxes of Girl Scout Cookies for the Guam USO.
Thank you Nance for all you do for the USO, our servicemen, and their families!
