NMCB1 End of Tour Morale Day
USO Naval Base Guam supported an End of Tour Morale Beach Day for NMCB1 at Gabgab Beach. More than 130 deployed Seabees enjoyed snacks and refreshments courtesy of USO. After lunch, those who gave their time and volunteered at USO NBG were recognized, and a few lucky Sailors won some fun travel accessories for their trip back home.
Thank you to volunteers from NMCB1: Chris Barnett, Dominique Gay, Claude Ravenell, Sean Rinner, and Charles Stankye for supporting USO NBG’s mission and for making an impact on our local and military communities.
NMCB 1 is a United States Navy Seabee battalion based in Gulfport, Mississippi and has a long, proud and distinguished history as the very first Naval Construction Battalion of the service that would become known as the Seabees.
Navy construction battalions have been on Guam since the island’s liberation from Japanese occupation in 1944. Since then, Seabees did the initial construction on the island’s main thoroughfare, Marine Corps Drive, and helped Guam and our neighboring islands recover from natural disasters.
USO will continue to support rotational Seabee battalions based at historic Camp Covington aboard US Naval Base Guam delivering morale boosting programming giving service members a home away from home throughout their deployment.
Special thanks to Security Title for your tremendous support.
