USO Naval Base Guam in collaboration with NMCB 133’s Runnin’ Roos, Naval Mobile Construction Battalion THREE, and CBMU303, hosted a barbecue event for Seabees aboard Camp Covington.

Camp Covington Chiefs Mess prepared burgers, hot dogs, grilled chicken, baked beans, and potato salad for all Seabees to enjoy. USO NBG joined in the fun providing cake a celebratory cake and prizes for all the outdoor games.

Our friends at Navy Federal Credit Union stopped by and gave out some awesome gifts to service members at the event.

Navy construction battalions have been on Guam since the island’s liberation from Japanese occupation in 1944. USO continues to support rotational Seabee battalions based at historic Camp Covington aboard US Naval Base Guam delivering morale boosting programs. throughout the year.

Since WWII, Seabees have deployed to fight in some of the largest battles in U.S. history. Navy Seabees were some of the first Americans to hit land on D-Day and have served in WWII, Korea, Vietnam, Desert Storm, Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom. The men and women of the Seabees have been deployed globally in every theater around the world constructing bases, building airfields, conducting underwater construction, and building roads, bridges and other support facilities while providing protection for themselves and those around them.

Today, Seabees continue to deploy all over the world to remote locations ready to support and respond to major combat operations, humanitarian aid and disaster relief operations, theater security cooperation, and military engineering missions to support blue water lethality and Navy objectives. #BeTheForce
