Biba Mes CHamoru! USO Naval Base Guam launched a series of Chamorro Month events with a Teen Social at the Guam Museum.

Teens and parents from the Navy, Coast Guard, Marines, and Air Force visited the brand new permanent exhibit at the Senator Antonio M. Palomo Guam Museum and Chamorro Educational Facility in Hagåtña. This 6,200 square foot gallery, located on the second floor of the Guam Museum, is the first of its kind on the island, featuring interactive, state-of-the-art technology and the most complete display of Guam’s history and culture in the Chamorro language to date.

The exhibit is designed to educate and entertain audiences of varying ages, backgrounds, and languages. Over 300 curated artifacts, thousands of images, multiple audios, and short films have been carefully pieced together in seven different galleries to guide visitors through the historical, Chamorro narrative of Guam.

Mes Chamoru is the time of year when the Guam community celebrates and reflects on the island’s history, heritage and native culture. The month-long celebration is filled with exciting special events and fun activities that showcase the best of Guam’s food, culture, and Hafa Adai spirit.

Thank you to Ms Leona Young and the Guam Museum staff for your hospitality.

Special thanks to Security Title for your steadfast support of USO programs and events benefiting service members and families on Guam.
