Deployed Christmas on Tinian for NMCB1 - USO Guam
USO Guam returned to the island of Tinian to serve up Christmas Dinner to more than 70+Seabees assigned to the island with Naval Mobile Construction Battalion One (NMCB ONE) - “The First and The Finest.”
At the battalion’s request, USO Guam made its third holiday season visit to the island on 12/26 to deliver a much desired hot meal to the Seabees who are assisting in the recovery from Category 5 Typhoon Yutu that devastated the island of Tinian and its neighbor Saipan on 10/25/2018.
For these service members who have been living in tents with extreme weather conditions for more than two months with only packaged Meals-Ready-To-Eat (MREs) and very limited hot meals, the USO flight bringing traditional Christmas spread complete with roast beef, turkey, ham, and all the trimmings was a welcomed sight! USO Guam Area Programs Manager Ed Lebita and USO Tumon Bay staff Kenji Oku delivered the goodness along with presents for everyone.
Happy Holidays and Merry Christmas to all military personnel around the world! We love you!
