USS Emory S. Land Homecoming - USO Guam
Welcome home USS Emory S Land (AS 39)! The United States Navy submarine tender returned after several months away to its home port at US Naval Base Guam. USO Guam supported the event along with the ship’s Family Readiness Group, MWR Guam, and Fleet & Family Support Center-Naval Base Guam. Families enjoyed pizza from MWR and USO staff ensured everyone enjoyed cold drinks while waiting for their loved ones. #
As a forward deployed naval force, EMORY S. LAND is tasked to provide expeditionary intermediate level maintenance and repairs, as well as provide hotel service and logistics support to deployed Guided Missile and Fast Attack submarines deployed in the Fifth and Seventh Fleet areas of responsibility. EMORY S. LAND is additionally capable of providing repair and logistic services to deployed surface combatants and ships.
